Mentoring a multibed
This program is for anyone who is setting up a new multibed clinic, wanting support with an existing one, or looking at expanding into more locations. The board at ACMAC are here to help and have a wealth of experience setting-up, running and expanding clinical operations.
We are here especially for help with:
- Deciding on a location
- The mechanisms of running a multibed clinic
- Reviewing business plans
- Reviewing marketing strategy
- When and how to expand
- How to bring other people into the team
- Incorporating – when, how and why
Sessions will last an hour and cost £50 for non-members and £40 for members. Check out our board members bios to see who would be most suited for you and then drop them an email to arrange a time and date. Payments can be done by Paypal or bank transfers and should be completed before the session.
Charlie was involved, although not a founding member of, the first non-NHS multibed acupuncture clinic in the UK, while studying for her acupuncture degree. She fell in love with this model of practice, using the experiences of patients at the clinic as the basis for her research dissertation, which was published in JCM. As practitioners visited the clinic and left inspired to start their own multibed clinics, Charlie started ACMAC as a space to collect information on this vibrant new practice model, and to inspire more practitioners to create more new clinics.
Joe has set up a collection of community clinics from four community centres across Oxfordshire. There are four practitioners involved and it has run since January 2018. The flagship clinic runs two full days a week and the others are currently at one day a week. They have an online intake form and treat four patients an hour, which means the prices can be lower, but it is pretty full on!
The project is formalised as a not-for-profit community interest company with each practitioner as a shareholder. He has made the practice carbon positive and has experience in writing funding applications as well as running social media, online ad campaigns and website building/management.
Anything else I should add/focus on? I wanted to give an idea of my experience and areas of knowledge as well as a bit about the set up so people can choose which would be most handy for them.
